Aussie gay icon Troye Sivan lands in Sydney, attends art exhibition

By Ben GrubbFebruary 27, 2025, 2:41pm

Australian YouTube twink turned singer-songwriter, model, actor and fragrance & homeware brand owner Troye Sivan was spotted at the Art Gallery of NSW on Wednesday night for a Sydney Mardi Gras event.

The 29-year-old, who is turning 30 in June, attended the “Queer Art After Hours” event with his US singer-songwriter buddy Leland, who is DJing at the official Mardi Gras after-party and at Poof Doof events this weekend.

If this story sounds familiar, it’s because Sivan attended the same event with Leland last year. We literally copy-pasted last year’s story into this and changed a few words.

As confirmed exclusively to Gay Sydney News earlier this week, Sivan “will be attending the Mardi Gras After Party”, a publicist at his label told us.

Whether Sivan actually performs at the official after-party is another question his publicist did not answer.

While in Sydney, Sivan is expected to follow Leland around to the various Sydney Mardi Gras events that are on, including ones hosted by Poof Doof.

Leland will first DJ at the “Poof Doof x Trash London” Mardi Gras opening party on Friday ($38.73) before performing at the official Mardi Gras after-party on Saturday ($246.95).

At Saturday night’s party, Leland is scheduled to appear “with friends”, which has led to some speculation that this will include Sivan.

Following Saturday night’s set, Leland will then play another set on Sunday at Poof Doof’s Ty Tea event at the Ivy pool club ($62.87).
