Bodyline ‘temporarily closed’ after selling to undisclosed buyer

By Ben GrubbMarch 28, 2024, 6:09am
The sex-on-premises venue Bodyline.

Sex-on-premises business Bodyline has been sold to a new undisclosed company, Gay Sydney News can reveal.

“Bodyline will be temporarily closed and be re-opening again very soon under new ownership,” a sign on the door says.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding, we look forward to seeing you all very soon.”

When contacted by phone on Thursday night, outgoing Bodyline owner Shadd Danesi told Gay Sydney News he had no comment to make.

It follows the announcement on Wednesday of Danesi selling the lease of the ARQ nightclub, the premises of which he also owns, to Home The Venue.

It’s unclear whether Danesi has sold the Bodyline premises or just the lease to the new owner.

In addition to Bodyline and ARQ, Danesi owns the adjacent buildings and has previously tried to sell the properties as a package unsuccessfully.

The last time the buildings were publicly listed for sale was in September 2021.
