Exclusive: Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan will attend the Mardi Gras after-party, Gay Sydney News has confirmed – but whether he performs might just depend on the night’s vibe.
“Troye will be attending the Mardi Gras After Party,” a spokeswoman at EMI, Sivan’s Australian label, said in an email on Monday night.
It follows Gay Sydney News reporting in late January that Sivan’s plans for Mardi Gras had not then been locked in and that he wasn’t performing.
“Troye is not performing, nor has he been confirmed to attend Mardi Gras this year,” his publicist said then.
The Aussie pop star hasn’t performed at a Mardi Gras before. But Leland, one of the producers of several of his songs, is scheduled to perform “with friends” at the after-party, leading to speculation Sivan may sing.
Meanwhile, rumours are swirling that Kylie Minogue may also make an appearance at the after-party.
Pedestrian.tv reported on Monday that an “insider” had told the publication that Minogue, in addition to Sivan, would be “popping up at the Mardi Gras after party unannounced”.
“It’s unclear if they will be performing or just showing their faces,” Pedestrian reported.
Gay Sydney News has separately heard unconfirmed information that Minogue might appear but has been unable to corroborate it.
Minogue performed during the 2023 WorldPride opening party with her sister. Before then, she hadn’t performed at Mardi Gras since 2012.
The Queen of Pop is performing a sold-out show at Qudos Bank Arena on the Saturday night of the after-party.
Mardi Gras declined to comment.
Tickets to the official Mardi Gras 2025 after-party are $246.95 including the booking fee.
