The Mardi Gras Party will be held at Allianz Stadium in 2027, returning after this year’s cancellation, Gay Sydney News can exclusively reveal.
Mardi Gras' own events database lists the all-night party for Saturday, March 6, 2027, in “The Tunnels” at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park, from 9pm to 6am, with tickets listed at $179.95.
Mardi Gras hasn't announced the venue. Its website is still showing a holding page ahead of the program launch.
Mardi Gras is due to hold a media event on Thursday to officially announce the 2027 line-up.
How we found it
The details were sitting in plain sight. Mardi Gras' website runs on a public events database that anyone can read without a login, and it was already listing the 2027 program ahead of Thursday's launch.
Gay Sydney News spotted it through gayguide.com.au, the free LGBTQIA+ events guide we set up, which checks the public event feeds of queer promoters and festivals every day.
On Wednesday it picked up 66 Mardi Gras 2027 events, including the party at “The Tunnels: Allianz Stadium”. At 10.28pm, the party's listing was edited to remove the $179.95 ticket price and the link to its event page. The venue and date were left unchanged.

The party has most often been held at the Hordern Pavilion and the surrounding Moore Park precinct.
In February, Mardi Gras cancelled the 2026 party, citing its financial performance, capacity constraints after losing the Royal Hall of Industries, community feedback and the changing demographics of attendees.
The party isn't the only comeback. Kaftana Pool Party, Hot Trans Mardi Gras and Queer Art After Hours are all returning, and the Mardi Gala Ball is back for a second year, with tickets up from $350 to $395.
A stadium move has been on the cards since May 2023, when this reporter and Michael Koziol in The Sydney Morning Herald revealed that Venues NSW planned to exempt the official Mardi Gras after-party from Allianz Stadium's 11pm curfew.
Then-CEO Albert Kruger told the Herald there were no plans to move the 2024 party, but the change meant organisers could if they wished.
The changes were approved in December 2023 and announced by the Minns government in January 2024. They lifted the SCG precinct's concert cap from an average of four events a year to 20, and kept the stadium's 11pm curfew, except for "the Mardi Gras after-party event, should it be relocated in the future".
The party had long been criticised over capacity. In 2020, thousands of ticket holders missed headline acts when the 5500-capacity Hordern filled up.
In December 2024, then-CEO Gil Beckwith told members "the party is not the cash cow that it used to be".
It's unclear what "The Tunnels" are. The listing had no lineup or ticket link, and its only link, to the party's page on the Mardi Gras website, leads to a holding page.
A presale page names promoters Kicks Entertainment and Bizarro, and promises lineup and ticket details on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
The party is one of 17 events tagged "Signature Event" in Mardi Gras' database:
