The lawyer for accused double-murderer and former senior police constable Beau Lamarre-Condon has given an update on his client’s condition ahead of a potential trial.
Following a brief court hearing which was adjourned on Tuesday until August, Lamarre-Condon’s lawyer John Walford told reporters outside court that the ex-police officer was “going OK under the circumstances”.

“He’s coping but it’s tough for everyone. It’s tough for him as well,” said Walford.
Crown prosecutor Brendan Donnelly asked the court for the adjournment, saying a request for certain documents under a subpoena had not been fulfilled.
Lamarre-Condon, who has been inside Silverwater prison since handing himself into police following a three-day manhunt, did not appear via audiovisual at court.
However, Magistrate Daniel Covington granted the Davies family, who live in Queensland, special privileges to remotely watch the proceedings, which is not typically allowed in local court.

Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot and killed Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies and his boyfriend, TV presenter Jesse Baird, at Baird’s Paddington home in inner Sydney on February 19 with his police-issued handgun.
Police will allege that Lamarre-Condon killed Baird after a pattern of predatory behaviour following a brief relationship months prior.
Baird and Davies’ bodies were found inside surfboard bags that had been buried in a shallow grave on a remote property near Goulburn after a week-long search.
Lamarre-Condon has yet to enter a plea. His lawyer previously flagged that Lamarre-Condon was potentially looking into a plea on mental health grounds.
“He may [rely on mental health grounds]; it may go to trial,” said Walford.
The case has now been adjourned until August 13.
